Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial consultations with clients through video conferencing, performing comprehensive mental health evaluations and documenting all critical information.
\n
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client assessments, ensuring they are tailored to meet the needs of individuals, couples, families, or groups.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.

• Monitor and document client progress throughout the course of treatment, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including other mental health professionals, physicians, and social workers, to coordinate a comprehensive care strategy for each client.

• Manage referrals to additional services as needed, ensuring that clients receive holistic care encompassing physical, emotional, and social well-being.

• Engage in follow-up communication with psychiatric consultants for clients requiring hospitalization or additional medical care.
\n
• Assist families and primary caregivers in understanding and managing behavioral challenges, offering support and education on mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a licensed mental health counselor at Citrus Psychotherapy Center, you will work with a broad spectrum of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families grappling with various mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Our approach focuses on establishing a safe and nurturing therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered to discuss their challenges and work collaboratively towards recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, or LCPC within the state of Illinois.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on maintaining a therapeutic connection with clients.

• In-depth understanding of behavioral health challenges and effective intervention techniques.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly in an outpatient or telehealth setting.

• Experience utilizing electronic health record systems such as AVATAR for documentation and treatment planning purposes.

• Knowledge of the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• A background in addressing the complexities of co-occurring disorders, including addiction and mental health issues.
