Sonographer

Base pay range $55.00/hr - $60.00/hr Description Prepares patient for examination focusing on patient comfort and satisfaction, explains the procedure in easy-to-understand terms, performs ultrasound procedures, relieves patients of pre-testing anxiety, and directly observes and monitors the patient during the entire process. Sets up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion. Carefully reviews prior reports and images and patient chart. Ensures that proper images have been obtained, studies are complete and thorough, appropriate techniques have been employed, reader is notified. Maintains records and logs of exams performed. Maintains control of inventory and purchases of supplies for the assigned area. Performs other related duties as assigned. Skills & Experience Required Skills & Experience Experienced Sonographer to perform high quality Adult Echo studies as per ASE & IAC Guidelines in a premiere cardiac center. Dedicated inpatient echo work experience is a must. Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography. Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills. Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies. Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities and quickly respond to critical findings. Preferred Skills & Experience TEE and Stress Echo experience. Familiarity with 3D echo imaging. TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, closure device protocols. Maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards. Experience using Philips ie33 and Epiq systems. Familiarity with Epic hospital information system. Education Required Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred Education: Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred. Certifications & Licensure Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association (AHA). Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography.
