Bookkeeper – Farmingdale, NY

A growing distribution and e-commerce company in Farmingdale, NY is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support daily accounting operations. This is a full-time, in-office role requiring strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview

The Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Experience with QuickBooks is a strong plus. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently as well as with management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Process vendor invoices, customer payments, and credit memos
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and assist with month-end close
• Prepare financial reports and summaries as needed
• Monitor and track inventory-related financial data (training provided if needed)
• Assist with payroll preparation and related documentation
• Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding billing or payment issues
• Support management with ad hoc accounting tasks

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Prior bookkeeping experience (distribution, retail, or product-based business experience is helpful)
• QuickBooks experience strongly preferred
• Strong proficiency in Excel and general computer skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and reconcile financial data
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Compensation & Schedule

• $60,000–$85,000, depending on experience
• Full-time, in-office position
• Monday–Friday schedule
