Construction Bookkeeper
Position: Construction Bookkeeper
Location: West Babylon, NY
Company/Industry: Well-established commercial construction firm
Schedule: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, On-site only
Salary: $80,000 - $120,000/yr, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate
Type: Direct hire + Benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle construction bookkeeping including AP, AR, job costing, and reconciliations
- Process vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and purchase orders
- Prepare and track job cost reports for active commercial projects
- Handle billing, progress payments, and change orders
- Maintain project files and financial documentation
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements
- Support payroll processing (experience helpful but not required)
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and timely billing
- Use QuickBooks Desktop daily for all accounting functions
Requirements
- 4+ years of construction bookkeeping experience — commercial construction required
- Strong QuickBooks Desktop experience
- Solid understanding of job costing, progress billing, and construction AP/AR
- Ability to work on-site Monday–Friday
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a small accounting team (no supervisory duties)
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $80,000.00 - $120,000.00
