Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Stepdown Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a progressive care unit. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including adults and occasional pediatric patients aged 15 and older. Unit Information Level of Care: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Number of Beds: 55 Common Patient Diagnoses: Cerebrovascular accident (CVA), transient ischemic attack (TIA), shortness of breath, COVID-19, subdural hematoma, and weakness. Common Medications/Drips: PCA pumps for pain management, Cardizem, Insulin. RN Ratio: 1:4 for both day and night shifts. Shift Information Shifts: 12 hours Shift Times: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend Support Staff Nursing Assistant support available Charge Nurse present Additional support from Educators, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists Qualifications Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Other Competencies: Telemetry skills required Unit Challenges Staffing adjustments and floating to medical-surgical areas as needed depending on patient care demands Focus on enhancing patient experience through hourly rounding and responsiveness Candidate Qualities The ideal candidate is someone who can effectively manage the daily operations of the unit and contribute to a cohesive team environment.
