Step into a meaningful contract role supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the vibrant Nashville metropolitan area. This rewarding position is based onsite and offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact within a dedicated educational community for the 2026–2027 school year.

As a full-time specialist, you’ll serve a diverse K–12 caseload across the district’s DHH hubs, which provide tailored support at the Pre-K, elementary, and, newly established, middle school levels. Your expertise will empower students to thrive academically and socially, with services largely consultative and customized according to evolving needs.

To be considered, candidates must bring the following:

• A valid Tennessee Department of Education certification
• Experience or a strong interest in working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across a range of grade levels
• The ability to obtain and maintain Tennessee fingerprint clearance
• Adaptability and initiative to support students across multiple sites and settings
• Exceptional communication skills when collaborating with educators, administrators, and families
• Commitment to promoting inclusive, student-centered learning environments

Primary responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct and consultative services as outlined in IEPs for K–12 students
• Collaborating with general education staff to foster accessible classroom environments
• Conducting student assessments, maintaining detailed records, and participating in multidisciplinary meetings
• Guiding and supporting families while advocating for student success
• Adapting instructional strategies and materials to meet unique student needs

This contract role follows the school calendar, beginning in early August and concluding in late May, with a standard Monday–Friday schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week.
