Production Mechanic

Job Responsibilities Service, set up, operate, maintain, adjust, and perform size change overs and overhauls on high‑speed manufacturing machinery including stamping and forming presses. Run the manufacturing line to maximize production efficiency. Inspect products to ensure they meet current standards. Diagnose mechanical and quality problems, determine necessary repairs, and restore defective equipment to service. Direct trainees, helpers, and other assigned employees effectively. Prepare and maintain reports and records related to production, quality, efficiency, and maintenance. Maintain a clean and orderly working area and equipment. Perform all duties with regard to safety for self and other employees, exercising proper care and protection of company property. Qualifications Experience as a mechanic repairing and troubleshooting mechanical machinery. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, handbooks, specifications, equipment manuals, parts lists, and other related written material. Skilled in using hand and power tools, micrometers, dial indicators, vernier calipers, and other precision measuring instruments and tools. Has or will provide a complete set of mechanic hand tools. Must pass the Silgan Containers Corporation Can Line Mechanic test. Technical or vocational college education preferred. Compensation and Benefits Starting salary $51,000 to $61,000 depending on experience. Medical insurance, HSA, 401(k), life insurance, vacation, and other benefits after 30 days of employment.
