Accounting & Operations Manager

We are a Denver, CO-based family investment office focused on public markets trading, private equity, real estate and credit. We sub advise various single-asset SPVs and private pooled funds. As a lean, high-output team, every person here owns a meaningful scope from day one and this role is no exception. The Role This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with the Founder daily. We\'re looking to grow our team and add an Accountant & Operations professional to serve as our internal financial and operational backbone. You\'ll own shadow books and records across our funds and SPVs, manage the relationships with our outsourced fund administrators and auditors, lead investor reporting and co-own valuation work. This role will also support broader firm operations including but not limited to cash management, capital calls and distributions, investor onboarding and investor communication. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who wants to move beyond execution-only work at a family office, private investment firm or fund administrator and build the internal financial infrastructure of a growing investment firm. What You\'ll Do Oversee cash/treasury management Maintain shadow books and records across our portfolio of SPVs and private investment funds, reconciling against our outsourced fund administrators to independently verify NAV, capital accounts, and expense allocations. Own internal books and records for the firm, keeping accurate, up-to-date financial records and coordinating with tax vendors. Serve as the primary point of contact for our outsourced fund administrators, CPA and tax advisors; reviewing their deliverables for accuracy and resolving discrepancies before they reach LPs or auditors. Manage capital call and distribution processes across funds and SPVs, including notices, LP communications, and coordination with banking/custody. Prepare periodic reporting materials, including schedules of investments and fund performance summaries. Support annual valuation work (ASC 820 / IPEV-consistent write-ups) for portfolio holdings, in coordination with the COO and PMs. Coordinate with tax preparers during the annual K-1 and tax filing and audit cycle. Support fund and SPV operations more broadly: onboarding and documentation, entity creation, KYC coordination, subscription document processing, and consent solicitation logistics. Help maintain internal trackers and templates (SPV tracker, fee/return models) as the portfolio grows. What You Bring 5+ years of experience in fund accounting and operations, ideally at a fund administrator or family office or in a fund accounting/controller function at a private fund manager. Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus but not required. Working knowledge of private fund structures — capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, capital account statements — across equity, credit, and/or secondaries strategies. Comfort working with valuation frameworks (ASC 820 / IPEV) Experience with LP reporting and investor-facing communications. A self-starter mentality; comfortable owning a broad, cross-functional scope at a small firm without a large team around you, operating with a high level of autonomy. Humility and a genuine willingness to learn; a "no task too small" attitude, whether that\'s a technical valuation write-up or routine administrative follow-up. Strong Excel skills; experience with fund admin platforms a plus but not required. Tech-savvy and AI-fluent; comfortable using AI tools to work faster and more accurately, and eager to bring new tools into the workflow. Experience writing standard operating procedures (SOPs) or similar process documentation. Compensation & Logistics Base salary: $115,000–$130,000; commensurate with experience.
