Job Title: Material Handler Contract to Hire

Job Description

This role focuses on carefully assembling, labeling, and packaging small sterile medical devices and components as part of a close-knit production team. You will work in a clean, controlled manufacturing environment, handling light parts and using an ERP system and RF scanner to accurately track, pick, and pack products.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with a team of approximately 510 people in a small sterile manufacturing area.
• Handle and process small, very light medical devices and components, including 9" pouches and similar items.
• Accurately label bags, boxes, and parts in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Assemble and kit boxes and components/devices, ensuring all required items are included and correctly organized.
• Pack devices and components into boxes and bags with attention to cleanliness, order, and product protection.
• Use an ERP system to support production activities, including picking, packing, and tracking materials and finished goods.
• Operate an RF scanner to pick, fill, and verify items for packaging and shipment.
• Perform general production tasks such as loading and unloading small medical device components as needed.
• Follow all guidelines for working with sterile medical devices and components to maintain product integrity.
• Adhere strictly to manufacturing, cleanliness, and safety protocols within the production environment.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to labeling, packaging, and production activities.
• Support continuous workflow by organizing workstations, replenishing materials, and communicating any issues to the team.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team in a production environment.
• Good eyesight to accurately read labels, instructions, and small print on medical device components and packaging.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English to understand work instructions and complete documentation.
• Comfort handling small, light medical devices and components for extended periods.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and sterile handling protocols consistently.
• Basic ability to work with an ERP system for picking, packing, and tracking tasks.
• Ability to use an RF scanner to scan, pick, and verify items.
• Reliability and punctuality to consistently meet the scheduled shift time of 4:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment, especially with medical devices or other sterile products.
• Familiarity with general production activities such as loading, unloading, and kitting.
• Comfort working in a structured, process-driven setting with defined quality and cleanliness standards.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills when labeling, kitting, and packaging products.

Work Environment

The position is based in a small, sterile manufacturing area dedicated to medical device production. You will work on-site alongside a team of 510 colleagues in a clean, controlled environment with strict hygiene and safety standards. Work involves handling very light, small medical devices and components, typically in 9" pouches, with no use of heavy equipment or tools. Tasks rely on an ERP system and RF scanner for picking, packing, and tracking, and involve general production activities such as loading and unloading small parts. The shift runs from 4:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Dress code includes closed-toed shoes and adherence to sterile environment guidelines, which prohibit makeup, fake nails or nail polish, and perfume.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morgan Hill, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
