Accounting Specialist

Job Title: Accounting Specialist Location: (City, State) Duration: Contract - 6 months Pay Range: $18/hr $20.50/hr (W2) Job ID: 374557 Job Description We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in a hybrid capacity. The role focuses on reviewing and resolving exception items within our system of record, balancing and reconciling assigned accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of work in line with departmental performance standards. The successful candidate will apply strong analytical skills, exercise independent judgment, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders. This position requires on-site presence three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday). Working hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Overtime is not required. Potential assignment extension or conversion to FTE may occur but is not guaranteed. Responsibilities Review and process exception items in the system of record within established performance guidelines. Balance and reconcile assigned accounts to meet or exceed departmental expectations. Perform complex research and resolve exception items, including rotational tasks. Investigate discrepancies and apply appropriate corrections to maintain data integrity. Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and escalates issues when necessary. Take initiative to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently, consulting team leads after other options are exhausted. Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through to resolution. Exercise a high level of independent judgment in decision-making. Required Skills & Qualifications High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to use OneNote effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication with internal stakeholders. Demonstrated follow-through and comfort with repetitive tasks to drive resolution. Preferred Skills Experience in a retail banking environment. Familiarity with Infogix. Work Model & Team Hybrid schedule. On-site Tuesday through Thursday on the 21st floor of the US Bank Plaza building. Team of 10 members with collaboration during training and with internal business partners. Interview process includes one interview with the hiring manager and team lead, either in person or via Microsoft Teams. Camera required for Teams.
