Accounting Specialist

Location: St. Paul, MN (Hybrid – On-site with Fridays remote), MN & WI candidates only will be considered Assignment Type: Contract-to-hire Compensation: $28-32/hour Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k). Job Description Our client is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their growing accounting team in St. Paul, MN. This role is best suited for someone with strong organizational skills, a solid foundation in accounting processes, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position will focus primarily on supporting deduction management and general accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable support, and reconciliation processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with multiple systems, and able to collaborate effectively across departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Process and manage customer deductions across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution Support general accounting functions including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Research, track, and resolve deduction discrepancies in partnership with internal teams Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to support issue resolution and maintain accurate records Assist in reconciliation activities and transactional accounting support as needed Support the implementation and ongoing use of a deduction management system (TELUS Enterprise) Maintain detailed documentation of deduction activity and account research Assist with data entry and reporting within multiple ERP systems Qualifications 1–3+ years of accounting, AP/AR, or transactional accounting experience preferred (recent graduates encouraged to apply) Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Comfortable working with multiple systems and learning new technology quickly (D365 Business Central, JDE, MS NAV a plus) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and strong sense of accountability EEO Statement Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
