Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at East Valley Rehab Center, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans that address patient needs, goals, and abilities, with a focus on pain relief, strength development, and functional restoration.
• Leading and supervising Physical Therapy Assistants to optimize the delivery of care and ensuring the execution of treatment plans effectively.
• Conducting comprehensive assessments using diagnostic tests to evaluate patients' functional abilities and recommend appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Assessing and modifying the home environment to enhance patient independence and recommend modifications to enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
• Delivering physical therapy services directly to patients in their homes, as per physician prescriptions.
• Administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, traction, massage, and other modalities as appropriate, instructing patients on how to independently perform exercises.
• Fitting and adjusting orthotic and prosthetic devices and making necessary modifications in consultation with prescribing physicians.
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to review and update care plans during case conferences, facilitating holistic treatment approaches.
• Maintaining precise clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Engaging patients and their families in discussions about therapy devices, care programs, and community resources available to them.
• Completing functional assessments and ensuring updates to clients' plans of care according to changing needs and responses to therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse outpatient client population with various musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and rehabilitation needs. Your work will focus on supporting patients of all ages, with a strong emphasis on restoring mobility, improving quality of life, and fostering independence through rehabilitation techniques tailored to individual client circumstances.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution, with a focus on evidence-based practice.
• A current and valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia, along with current CPR certification.
• A minimum of one year of experience in clinical settings, preferably in acute care or home care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and families.
• A creative mindset, capable of innovative thinking to improve patient care and outcomes.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be advantageous:

• Experience in outpatient therapy environments and familiarity with therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation technologies.

• Specialized certifications in specialized therapy techniques or areas such as geriatrics or sports rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
