We are looking for a Business Analyst to support a long-term contract opportunity in Coppell, Texas. This role focuses on accounting data and general ledger activities tied to mortgage servicing environments, with close collaboration across accounting, operations, and project teams. The ideal candidate brings strong business analysis experience, a solid grasp of financial systems, and the ability to help drive accurate testing, validation, and requirement alignment throughout a system conversion initiative.

This is a 7-month contract position

Hybrid work schedule with 3 days a week in the office in Coppell, Texas

Must have Mortgage Servicing industry experience

Business Analyst with mortgage servicing experience (contract position):

Responsibilities:

• Partner with accounting, operations, and project stakeholders to collect, clarify, and document business and functional requirements.

• Analyze accounting data and general ledger structures to support accurate system setup and downstream reporting needs.

• Translate business needs into detailed process documentation, use cases, and gap analysis findings for project teams.

• Support data mapping activities by identifying source-to-target relationships and helping resolve conversion issues.

• Coordinate and execute testing efforts, including test case review, result validation, and defect tracking.

• Perform reconciliation and data validation activities to confirm financial information is complete and accurate after conversion events.

• Work with cross-functional teams to identify risks, escalate issues, and maintain alignment on project milestones and deliverables.

• Provide business analysis support throughout implementation and conversion phases to help ensure a smooth transition within the mortgage servicing environment.

• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, including support for system implementations or conversion projects.
• Practical knowledge of accounting operations and general ledger concepts within enterprise systems.
• Experience with data mapping, reconciliation, testing, and validation in complex business environments.
• Background in mortgage servicing is required.
• Ability to work effectively with accounting, operations, and project teams across multiple functions.
• Strong skills in document review, requirements analysis, and gap identification.
• Experience with accounting systems and conversion or implementation initiatives.
