Key Objectives Plan, organize, implement, and supervise a developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive elementary program Provide appropriate differentiation to support individual learners in the classroom Mentor a Teaching Assistant, providing supervision and training Work collaboratively with other faculty and in accordance with the Shore curriculum Develop positive relationships with children and their families Develop daily lesson plans Assess the development and needs of individual children on a regular basis and communicate progress to parents and the Head of Lower School Organize and maintain a healthy, safe, and inclusive learning environment Maintain verbal and written communication with families on a regular basis Maintain expectations in the classroom as well as monitor and enforce the school’s Community Code Envision, coordinate, and supervise class field trips Write narrative reports about individual students two times each year (December, June) and conduct family conferences three times each year (October, February, June) Participate in pertinent department, division, and all‑employee meetings Perform necessary duties and implement schedules in collaboration with other faculty members Participate in professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops for the purpose of professional development Keep abreast of current research and practices in elementary education, child development, and equity and justice issues Maintain necessary records and documentation about student behavior and progress Counsel and advise students on social and academic concerns Perform related duties such as supervising and/or sponsoring one or more student activities or student organizations Provide input to the Head of Lower School on the evaluation of the teaching assistant(s) at the grade level Attend and support special events, such as admissions and advancement, to promote and support Shore. Salary Range: $60,000 – $100,000 – This salary represents the expected annual salary range for this position. Ultimately, your education level, experience, and other job‑related factors will be considered to determine compensation.
