Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Ability to float within the service line Description: The role involves working in a procedural area where tasks may extend beyond scheduled shifts. Expectations include remaining after the shift once a week to complete necessary procedures. Agency nurses are also required to work every 5th or 6th Saturday as needed. This position requires participation in weeknight call every 1 to 2 weeks and weekend call coverage typically once or twice during the assignment. The Registered Nurse supports patients undergoing neuro-interventional procedures such as neuro-angiograms. RNs administer procedural sedation, typically utilizing medications such as fentanyl and versed. Patient demographics vary from outpatients to critically ill ICU patients. The ideal candidate should possess skills in activated clotting time, angioplasty, emergency medications, endovascular interventions, procedural sedation management, neurologic thrombolysis, and starting and maintaining IVs. The registered nurse will work closely with interdisciplinary support teams and may encounter various neurological diagnoses. In this role, the nurse will ensure high-quality patient care and must be flexible in adapting to unit needs.
