Data Business Analyst

As a Data Business Analyst at Echo Global Logistics, you will work as part of our Data and Business Intelligence platform team helping to translate data/information requirements into technical designs, discover how data can be used to provide actionable business insights to solve problems, identify trends and patterns that will result in performance improvement and added value to the business. You will be able to act as both a product owner eliciting requirements and designing technology solutions and support the technical data designs. General Responsibilities:

• Independently work with the business stakeholders to properly derive business solution data requirements
• Perform business requirement analysis and translate in to technical design requirements
• Proactively look into pattern and trends in the data to derive business value
• Work with Business Stakeholders, Product Manager and Engineer(s) daily, to breakdown business requirements into user stories and identify their data needs
• Partner with Product Managers to understand domain roadmaps and define scope on prioritized roadmap initiatives
• Collaborate with engineers to analyze and break down the tasks involved in application re-platforming, creating a comprehensive plan that includes data migration
• Act as the first line of defense to triage data issues. Perform data analysis to determine the source of issues
• Partner with Sr. Data Steward, Product Manager and Data Engineers to inventory data assets, create and maintain data catalog (dictionary, glossary and lineage)

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years Product Owner, Business Analyst or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated expertise in creating quality documents such as user stories/acceptance criteria, business requirements/use cases, process flows, product backlogs
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, fluid work environment
• Self-managed and motivated; organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to follow through with tasks to their completion
• Readiness to learn new technologies and analytical tools
• Exposure to the full software development lifecycle experience in an Agile-SCRUM environment
• Analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate business and market problems and apply technology and domain knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of RDBMS, SQL, Oracle, MySQL, DDL, DML
• Experience with SSMS, Workbench
• Reporting experience using SSRS (SQL Service Reporting Services) or PowerBI
• Experience in the transportation/logistics/supply chain field is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Marketing, Business or equivalent experience.
