Job Details Job Location: IA Mt Vernon - Mount Vernon, IA 52314 Position Type: Full Time Travel Percentage: Up to 25% Job Shift: Day Job Category: Human Resources Job Title: Human Resources Manager *Safety Sensitive Position Job Function Assists the compliance of all personnel policies and procedures. Assists with ensuring the company is compliant with all State and Federal employment laws. Maintains professional communication with multiple store locations to ensure information flows in an appropriate and confidential manner. Job Duties Develops policies and procedures for the organization and counsels managers and employees on the adherence to policies and procedures, laws and regulations. Manages employee files by keeping them current, organized, in compliance with regulations, and maintaining proper confidentiality of the information. Manages the compensation and benefits plans for the organization. Coordinates and processes biweekly payroll for the company, including resolving any employee questions or concerns. Manages the recruiting, staffing, and performance management processes. Assists with monthly safety meetings. Administers workers compensation processes. Assists with recruiting and new hire efforts including providing interview guidance to managers, completing new hire processes and employee orientation and maintains relationship with local schools, and training centers. Assists with administering employee engagement programs which may include recognition and wellness. Oversees the administration of training and employee learning and development activities. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Safety gear allowances Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources/Business Management or equivalent experience required. 3 plus years in Human Resources activities such as compensation and benefits, staffing, employee development, and training. Professional in Human Resource (PHR) certification preferred. Ability to use HRIS systems, standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions. Knowledge of employment laws, policies and regulations. Understands minimum wage laws, confidentiality policies, employee notification requirements and other regulatory policies. Ability to write and speak to individuals and groups effectively.
