What if your next professional journey could give voice to your purpose? As a Speech Language Pathologist in vibrant Durham, North Carolina, your role will extend beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders. You will unlock potential, restore self-assurance, and foster meaningful connections - from little ones finding their first words to older adults reclaiming their voices and independence.

This role offers an exceptional chance to impact lives across the lifespan in an environment that harmonizes outpatient therapy with select inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in pediatric language development, adult neurogenic communication disorders, or cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for older adults, you will experience fulfillment and flexibility in every day.

  • Craft individualized treatment plans targeting immediate goals and long-term enhancement of communication, cognitive, or swallowing abilities.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
  • Work closely with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to forge integrated care strategies.
  • Provide educational support to patients and families to encourage progress outside of clinical environments.
  • Assist with periodic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity throughout the treatment process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation following state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Remain updated on the latest trends and innovations in the field through continuing education and peer collaboration.

  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required within 30 days of hire.
Essential Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies for all ages, with a strong grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Ability to tailor therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable utilizing electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
Perks & Benefits
  • Attractive compensation based on experience.
  • Flexible scheduling options promoting work-life balance and varied patient caseloads.
  • Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.

  • Support for continuing education and professional development.
  • A cooperative, team-oriented environment prioritizing quality care and lifelong learning.

A Career That Enriches Both You and Those You Serve

In this role, you will not only provide dedicated speech therapy but also become part of a community committed to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and celebrating the human experience - through the simple yet profound acts of understanding and being understood.

Join a network of clinicians who consider each other family. Here, collaboration trumps competition, and every patient has a narrative - we believe you have a vital part in shaping those stories.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who is not just results-focused but also deeply empathetic. Someone who can see the quiet child and imagines a future of self-assurance; who hears the hesitant speech of a stroke survivor and deciphers a story of resilience.

You may be specializing in pediatric therapy and wish to explore adult services or a neuro-focused clinician eager to incorporate early interventions in your toolkit.

If you're prepared to serve with heart and lead with expertise, we would love to have you join our team.

Let Us Help Shape Your Next Chapter

If you resonate with the belief that speech transcends mere sounds, and that therapy involves building bonds as much as goals; if you hold the joy of laughter as essential as the intricacies of language - this could be the next landmark in your career journey.

Join us in a community that champions communication, connection, and the courageous spirit required to begin anew. Apply now to bring your valuable voice to our team - and assist others in discovering their own.
