Requisition No: 876267 Agency: State Courts System Working Title: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I - 22011853 Pay Plan: State Courts System Position Number: 22011853 Salary: $37,575.60 Annually Posting Closing Date: 06/12/2026 Total Compensation Estimator ToolPosition Title Administrative Assistant I Job Location Office of the State Courts Administrator, Office of Court Services, 500 South Duval Street, Tallahassee, Florida Salary Range $37,575.60 Annually Job Description This position provides essential administrative, organizational, accounting, and fiscal support to the Court Interpreter Certification and Regulation Program―which qualifies and regulates spoken language court interpreters for the Florida State Courts System. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Preparing travel reimbursement requests, assisting with inventory management, drafting correspondence, and preparing reports. Creating templates for forms and assisting with organizing travel and meeting logistics. Processing requests related to training, testing, and renewals for registration or official state-level designation. Ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow for all administrative aspects of the program. Collecting and inputting data for statistical reports, maintaining automated office systems and databases, and providing information to court personnel and the public. Ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting. Handling sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and judgment. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with judges, court personnel, state and local government staff, vendors, and the public. Occasionally travel within the state to serve as a test proctor or provide administrative support at workshops and oral exam administrations. The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail while effectively working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Education and Training Guidelines Bachelor’s degree. One year of work experience in business administration, office skills, or a related field. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis. Competencies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to use correct English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Knowledge of and ability to perform basic mathematical operations, bookkeeping, and simple statistics. Ability to plan and prepare budgets, reports, correspondence, and charts in a variety of formats. Ability to proofread and edit correspondence and reports. Ability to use a personal computer and word processing applications such as Word and spreadsheets. Ability to organize work, establish priorities, and meet deadlines. Ability to organize and/or automate office procedures and maintain an effective filing system. Ability to manage multiple assignments, including long- and short-range projects. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to deal tactfully with the public. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion concerning confidential information. Ability to plan, organize, and complete special assignments with general supervision.
