Salary Range: $90,000–$120,000 per year

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Eatontown, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for a public accounting professional with at least three years of experience who enjoys working directly with small business clients and business owners.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, proficiency in QuickBooks Online, and the ability to manage multiple client relationships while ensuring accurate and timely financial records. This role offers direct client interaction, hands-on professional development, and the opportunity to grow within a collaborative accounting firm.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in our Eatontown office.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accounting and bookkeeping services for a portfolio of small business clients.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and business owners.
• Perform bookkeeping activities, including bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare quarterly and year-end journal entries as needed.
• Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and preparing financial reports.
• Use QuickBooks Online to manage client accounts and accounting workflows.
• Manage multiple client engagements, prioritize deadlines, and ensure timely completion of assignments.
• Respond to routine client accounting inquiries and provide support on day-to-day financial matters.
• Assist with tax-related work as needed, including tasks involving Lacerte tax software.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver quality accounting services and support the firm's continued growth.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in public accounting .
• Experience working with small business clients.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general accounting principles.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and competing deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working directly with clients and business owners.
• Knowledge of tax preparation and Lacerte software is helpful but not required.
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Eatontown, NJ.
