Job Description

Refrigeration Technician — KC Mechanical (Vermont)

Specializing in Refrigeration? Let’s Talk.

KC Mechanical is looking for an experienced Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team.

If you’ve worked on commercial coolers, freezers, walk-ins, and reach-ins —and want steady, local work with a company that respects your trade —we might be the right fit.

We’re a locally owned Vermont business with nearly 30 years serving restaurants, schools, and food service operators across Chittenden, Lamoille, Washington, Franklin, Orange, and Addison Counties .
We’re not corporate—we’re a small team that supports our technicians, values craftsmanship, and does business the right way.

What We Offer

• Take-home company van – no daily shop returns unless you need parts

• Local work only – no long hauls or out-of-state travel

• Dedicated support team – we handle scheduling, dispatch, parts, and warranty claims

• Professional trust – no micromanaging, just clear communication and respect

• Tool support – bring your basics, we’ll help with the rest

Who We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years of experience in commercial refrigeration or HVAC/R

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

• Clean, professional work habits and solid communication skills

• Comfortable using iPads or service software for ticketing and documentation

• High School Diploma or GED

• Able to lift 60 lbs, push 100 lbs, and pull 50 lbs

Experience with commercial kitchen equipment is a plus—but we’ll train the right person with solid refrigeration experience.

Position Details

• Full-time W2 employment (not subcontracted)

• Competitive pay based on experience

• Paid onboarding and manufacturer-level training

Benefits That Work for You

• Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, and HRA account

• Company van, gas card, and incidentals card

• Company-issued iPad and equipment

• 401(k) with company match

• Paid vacation, sick days, and floating holidays

• Overtime and on-call pay opportunities

If you’re a refrigeration tech who takes pride in quality work and wants to join a steady, supportive Vermont team , KC Mechanical is the place for you.
