Lab - Phlebotomist

This position offers a consistent schedule in a clinical setting, allowing you to make a meaningful difference in patient care while working with a reputable organization committed to excellence in medical testing.Responsibilities– Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of blood and urine specimens accurately and efficiently – Perform venipuncture to collect blood specimens in accordance with departmental protocols – Observe and collect urine specimens from patients, including observed collections when necessary – Properly identify patients before specimen collection to ensure sample integrity – Label and document specimens meticulously, then prepare them for shipment to the laboratory – Demonstrate excellent customer service and compassionate interaction with patients, physicians, and staff – Communicate effectively across a diverse patient population – Follow all OSHA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and universal precautions when handling specimens – Maintain clean and organized work areas at all times – Assist with order processing and supply management as neededRequired Skills– At least 6 months of venipuncture experience – Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service in a clinical setting – Reliable and with a strong work ethic – Strong computer skills, including managing multiple programs and managing email and reports – Fast and accurate data entry skills – Clear and confident communication skills with attention to detailAdditional Skills & Requirements– Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds – Physical stamina for frequent walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting – Experience collecting observed urine samples is preferred – Schedule includes daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with shifts varying between mornings and afternoons based on assignment location in Salt Lake City, UT – High school diploma or equivalent required; additional medical or phlebotomy certification is a plusThis role provides an excellent opportunity to apply your phlebotomy skills in a supportive environment dedicated to patient wellness.
