Property Accountant

Our client is an organization in the Minneapolis area that’s looking for a Property Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with 2+ years of experience, has excellent communication skills, and is analytical. This company offers a collaborative team, an inclusive culture, and flexibility. This position is hybrid. The salary for this position is up to $65K - $70K. The Property Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain accurate property accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Analyze financial statements, budget variances, and key performance metrics to identify trends and discrepancies. Complete required lender, regulatory, and governmental reporting accurately and on schedule. Support annual budgeting, audits, internal controls, and accounting processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and depreciation. Research and resolve accounting inquiries, identify process improvements, and provide support to accounting leadership as needed. The Property Accountant will possess the following:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of financial accounting experience, preferably in property accounting or a related industry. Strong understanding of financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, and accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and accounting software systems. Experience with Yardi or similar property accounting software, with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
