Pharmacy TechnicianPharmacy Technician positions are available in the pediatric acute care setting. Looking to create a diverse team to help perform patient care activities. Locations include CW Main Pharmacy and CW Operating Room Pharmacy. Specific areas and shift times are available depending on current area needs.General Pharmacy Technician duties may include:Prepare and package non-sterile compounded pharmaceuticalsPrepare sterile products, injections and IV chemotherapyFill automated dispensing cabinets on nursing unitsCorrectly distribute and account for controlled substances usageDeliver medications to nursing units including surgical roomsStock medications shelves, manage inventory dating, return excess stock to inventory and properly dispose expired medicationsPrepare and deliver investigational drugs per research protocolsRespond and triage telephone and electronic message inquiriesAssist the Pharmacist with auditing controlled substance utilizationBuild various medication kits, providing support to many different professionsAssist with training of staffOther duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor to assist with preparation and delivery of patient medicationsWork in a highly collaborative environment including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Managers, Technician Supervisors, and other medical professionalsAbility to perform a wide range of physical activity: lifting, pulling, bending, manual dexterity movements. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize with accuracy and dependability: Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English.Pharmacy Technician Associate:High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License on or before hire date, verifiable through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory AffairsProficient communication, computer and basic mathematical skills are necessary.Must be able to prioritize with accuracy and dependability.Pharmacy Technician Intermediate/Senior:Associate level requirements, plus additional relevant experience required to be eligible.At least one year of technician experience or completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program is highly desirable. UMHS Pharmacy Department provides coaching and additional information to support Technicians to become certified and licensed.Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
