Mainframe Systems Programmer

Salary: $120,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• We need proven experience as a system programmer managing, maintaining, and configuring VTAM and API components within an IBM mainframe environment.
• We need demonstrated experience administering and supporting TCP/IP.
• We need hands-on experience with z/OS systems, including z/OS 2.4, as well as Pageant encryption setup and configuration.
• We need experience with SSH, TLS, SFTP, and FTP network communication protocols.
• We prefer a bachelors degree in information systems or a related field.
• We need strong analytical ability and close attention to detail.
• We need excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders, process owners, and customers.
• We need the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• We need experience with IBM Multi-Factor Authentication, CL/SuperSession or another multi-session product, IODF, and BMC Control-M.
• We need the ability to pass a federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• We provide 24/7/365 remote support and on-site response when needed.
• We use IBM SMP/E tools and processes to install and maintain software.
• We use JCL and utility programs such as IEBGENER to support z/OS software products.
• We work with IBM file structures including HFS, ZFS, and PDS, along with TSO ISPF panels, SDSF or equivalent ISV tools, and DFSMS.
• We evaluate new technologies, define implementation approaches, and assess impacts to production environments.
• We independently diagnose and resolve technical trouble calls.
• We create and maintain technical documentation and specifications in line with established requirements and timelines.
• We review policy, regulatory, and procedural changes to understand their impact on our area of responsibility.
• We develop on-the-job training programs for new technologies and software packages.
• We participate in Agile project management and a DevSecOps culture as needed.
• We collaborate with Information Assurance to support documentation of security controls.
