Accounting SpecialistAccounting specialists manage a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and reporting. They ensure the accuracy of financial data, maintain compliance with internal controls, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department. This role is essential for maintaining organized financial records and supporting day-to-day business operations.Typical accounting specialist duties:Process and log accounts payable and accounts receivable transactionsReconcile bank statements, vendor accounts and general ledger entriesAssist with month- and year-end closing proceduresPrepare and maintain financial reports, spreadsheets and documentationMonitor and resolve discrepancies in invoices, payments and account balancesSupport internal and external audits by providing necessary documentationCollaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and reportingMaintain compliance with company policies and accounting standardsQualifications:Communication and customer service skillsOrganization and project management skillsStrong mathematical skillsUnderstanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeepingSuperb time management and detail orientationAbility to keep company and vendor confidentialityProficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to learn other computer software systems rapidlyExperience in accounts payable or general accountingExperience in driving process improvementCompensation:Full benefits included (PTO, 401K, vision, dental, life, and health insurance)Starting compensation varies depending on experience $25/hr to $30/hr.
