Endoscopy Tech / Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology - SRS - Variable Shift - Per Diem

Hours: Shift Start Time: Variable Shift End Time: Variable AWS Hours Requirement: 8/40 - 8 Hour Shift Additional Shift Information: Per Diem / PRN Weekend Requirements: As Needed On-Call Required: No Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $28.740 - $35.930 - $40.240 What You Will Do Perform a variety of direct patient care activities and assist with endoscopic procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Gastroenterologist. Assist patients, staff, and physicians to maintain operational efficiency, manage patient data, and provide customer service while delivering quality care. Support effective use of resources, managing equipment, supplies, and department assets. Accurately maintain equipment disinfection logs and ensure regulatory compliance. Organize and complete daily tasks within set time frames, fostering efficient room turnaround and patient flow. Maintain equipment and supplies, assist with ordering and restocking. Collaborate with leadership to stay within fiscal budgets for equipment and supplies. Participate in departmental inventories, site inspections, and audits. Manage telephone messages, troubleshoot calls, and record authorizations. Assist with scheduling surgeries and procedures accurately. Provide support in other departments as needed and travel to other sites as business demands. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. 1 Year Medical Assistant experience in a related clinical area. AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) – required. Preferred Qualifications 1 Year endoscopy lab experience. Completion of an ASGE Endoscopy Technician training program within 90 days of hire. Essential Functions Equip maintenance: Provide high-level disinfection of endoscopes/washers per ASGE, manufacturer guidelines, and Sharp policy; maintain logbook for compliance. Department efficiency: Complete daily responsibilities, optimize workflow, manage supplies, and assist with ordering. Audit readiness: Participate in site inspections and inventory procedures. Telephone management: Efficiently return messages, troubleshoot, and schedule surgeries. Patient care: Assist gastroenterologists during procedures, manage medications safely, document properly, obtain consent, and label specimens accurately. Adherence to infection control and universal precautions. Provide support to PSRs with front desk and scheduling tasks. Professional development: Engage in training, in-services, and educational opportunities. Specimen handling: Obtain, label, and document specimens before laboratory transfer. Professional Development Actively participate in annual competency training and departmental in-services. Aide in teaching new staff equipment maintenance and processing.
