Description & Interest
BR&E is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to perform a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping duties for a group of diverse family-owned businesses in the Bryan, Texas area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review general ledger transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly journal entries
- Assist with the preparation of supporting schedules for federal and state tax returns
- Assist with business expense analysis and cost-cutting initiatives
- Prepare monthly financial reports for internal use
- Monitor and reconcile credit card balances
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
- Provide clerical and administrative support for special projects and other duties as assigned

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
