Asset Manager

Brazos Residential is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of multifamily assets and drive performance across our growing platform. This role leads the execution of strategic business plans, oversees in-house property management, and works closely with senior leadership to maximize asset value and total return. Key Responsibilities Drive NOI growth and total return by identifying operational efficiencies, value-add opportunities, and revenue enhancement strategies across the multifamily portfolio. Track property performance across the portfolio and hold the management team accountable to plan on leasing, expenses, collections, and everything in between. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio reporting, financial analyses, lender reporting packages, hold/sell analyses, valuation updates, and ad hoc analyses for review by senior management. Work closely with in-house property management to provide direction on business plans, leasing activity, and market trends; lead weekly leasing meetings with the property management team. Manage and oversee capital improvement strategies and renovation projects, coordinating with in-house construction teams, contractors, and third-party partners to drive execution and cost control. Develop and manage annual business plans and operating budgets; evaluate leasing assumptions, capital expenditure priorities, and perform quarterly and annual portfolio valuations. Monitor regional economic and investment trends, conducting market and competitive research to inform portfolio strategy and identify changes impacting real estate values. Assist with refinancing, disposition preparation, and other portfolio-level initiatives; conduct property visits and site inspections to evaluate operational performance and asset condition. Perform ad hoc analysis of potential issues, develop strategies to manage conflicts, and take ownership of special projects to support the broader asset management team. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or a related field. 3 - 5 years of experience in multifamily asset management, investment analysis, property operations, or related real estate fields. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Solid understanding of key financial statements, JV operating agreements, and loan documentation. Highly organized and self-driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial setting. Self-starter with a proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership; ability to travel to properties as needed. Preferred Familiarity with Yardi Voyager or similar property management platforms. Exposure to capital projects, budgeting, or business plan execution in a vertically integrated real estate platform.
