• Position Summary
\n
• The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the operational support, maintenance, security, performance, and availability of enterprise database platforms. This role works closely with application development teams to implement database changes, manage access, optimize performance, and ensure platform stability across production and non-production environments.

• Key Responsibilities

• Database Administration & Change Implementation
\n
• Execute database changes on behalf of application teams including:
\n
• DDL (CREATE, ALTER, DROP objects)
\n
• DCL (GRANT, REVOKE, Role Management)
\n
• Schema changes and object migrations
\n
• Index creation and modification
\n
• Data model implementation
\n
• Review and validate database change requests for adherence to standards and best practices.
\n
• Coordinate and execute database releases through established change management processes.
\n
• Support application deployments requiring database modifications.
\n
• Performance Management & Tuning
\n
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify bottlenecks.
\n
• Analyze and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, and data access patterns.
\n
• Perform capacity planning and resource optimization.
\n
• Diagnose and resolve CPU, memory, locking, blocking, I/O, and concurrency issues.
\n
• Recommend architectural improvements to improve scalability and performance.
\n
• Conduct workload analysis and performance trend reporting.
\n
• Observability & Monitoring

• Maintain database monitoring and alerting platforms.
\n
• Develop dashboards, metrics, and health indicators for database environments.

• Investigate alerts and perform root cause analysis.

• Define and track performance, availability, and operational KPIs.

• Improve observability through instrumentation, automation, and operational runbooks.

• Partner with security teams to address vulnerabilities and remediation activities.
