Join a leading healthcare system as an Inpatient Pharmacist, supporting a major Los Angeles County Department of Health hospital. This long-term contract role offers the opportunity to gain valuable hospital experience with a highly respected health system known for its comprehensive ambulatory care clinics and hospitals.
Location: Sylmar, CA (within the greater LA area, near Van Nuys)
Schedule:
- Primarily 8-hour shifts
- Flexible to work all shifts, mainly 1st and 2nd shifts
- Occasional 3rd shift required
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical pharmacy services within an inpatient hospital setting
- Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize therapeutic outcomes
- Participate in medication preparation and dispensing
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with active licensure
- Preference for new PGY1 residency graduates
- Candidates without PGY1 but possessing some hospital experience (including internships) considered
- Approximately 2 years of current inpatient experience preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and dedication to patient safety
- Ability to pass a competency exam on-site (one chance to pass)
- Successful completion of Livescan background screening prior to start
Contract Details and Potential for Permanent Position:
- This assignment is a contract position through an agency supporting LACDHS
- While working as a contractor, candidates have the option to apply directly to the County for permanent placement
