Registered Nurse, Stepdown Float Pool, Night Shift, Temp Force - VUH

Overview The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Staffing Collaborative supports nursing staff throughout the VUMC Health System. The assignment is a short‑term, travel‑style position with premium pay and optional benefits. Assignment Details Duration: Fixed assignment, ends May 2 2026, starting preferably January 2026 (extended beyond the standard 13‑week duration). Location: Vanderbilt University Hospital – Nashville, TN Unit: Stepdown Shift: Night shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) Key Benefits Premium pay – $65 per hour Medical insurance benefits available through TempForce Assignment may float between units within the same hospital RNs typically work 36–40 hours per week based on unit needs Qualifications Registered Nurse required; Tennessee license Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program or equivalent experience Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience; preferred 2+ years recent Stepdown experience Certification: BLS, ACLS, and PALS Responsibilities Collaborate in establishing and implementing plans of care across the continuum. Analyze patient data to determine nursing diagnoses and evaluate progress toward goals. Utilize the nursing process to apply appropriate interventions and promote health. Employ strategies to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Technical Capabilities Care Planning: anticipate resource needs, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing needs. Nursing Patient Education: provide patient education of moderate difficulty. Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation: conduct primary care interviews and examinations, gather clinical data. Evidence‑Based Practice: search for evidence to answer clinical questions.
