About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Grant Accounting and Sponsored Programs. The successful candidate will provide operational leadership and oversight for the Sponsored Program Accounting function, with a focus on the financial administration, accounting, reporting, billing, collections, and compliance activities related to sponsored research, grants, and contracts. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and stewardship of sponsored funds, and the AVP will be responsible for leading a team that manages post-award financial operations in compliance with various regulations and institutional policies. The position involves close collaboration with the Office of Research Support Services, principal investigators, and academic and finance leadership to support the mission of the organization. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 7 years' of experience in accounting, audit, research finance, or related financial management functions. A strong background in healthcare, academic, or research settings is essential. The role requires proficiency in financial management systems, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to design and strengthen internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, including talent development and change management, and be adept at partnering with stakeholders to resolve financial issues and improve processes. Experience with sponsored programs accounting, federal grants administration, and Uniform Guidance compliance is strongly preferred.
