Our client, a privately held services organization, is seeking a Director of Security Operations to lead a substantial frontline operations division. The business supports a broad mix of commercial and institutional clients and is currently in a period of active growth.
This role offers the opportunity to assume full divisional responsibility and play a meaningful part in shaping the next stage of the company’s expansion.
OverviewReporting directly to the COO, the Head of Security Operations will oversee a large, distributed hourly workforce supporting complex, 24/7 client operations. This is not a maintenance-focused position. The ownership team has made a strategic decision to elevate the leadership of this division and is committed to continued growth, giving the incoming Director a clear mandate to improve performance standards, strengthen accountability, and support the scaling of the business.
The successful candidate will join a division with established operational foundations and long-standing client relationships. This is an opportunity for an executive operator to bring structure, leadership, and strategic direction to help take the division to its next level. Key Responsibilities- Oversee staffing, scheduling, shift coverage, and overtime management across round-the-clock operations
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of direct reports across multiple sites, including performance reviews, coaching, and progressive corrective action where required
- Full P&L responsibility, including budget compliance, billing, and contract profitability
- Coordinate cross-functionally with HR and Finance to support operational success
- Implement and uphold SOPs, quality control processes, and performance expectations
- Foster a culture of safety, recognition, and high performance throughout the division
- Manage operational mobilization and client transition planning for new and ending accounts
- Drive client retention and act as the executive-level relationship owner for key accounts
- Support business development through bid presentations and new account proposals as requested by senior leadership
- Report on operational performance and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Requirements
Required Qualifications- Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including oversight of budgets, billing, labor productivity, and overtime management
- Proven success leading a large, multi-site security operation with direct P&L accountability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of security industry regulations, compliance standards, and operational best practices
- Strong client relationship management experience with a record of retention outcomes
- Experience maintaining consistent operational standards across multiple locations, ideally spanning more than one state or region
- Executive-level leadership experience with a demonstrated history of building accountable, high-performing teams and driving change independently
- Background with a regional or national security services provider
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving ability, with the capacity to translate strategy into operational execution
- Minimum three years managing teams of 50 or more
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Law Enforcement, or a related field
- Experience leading a division through significant growth, expansion, or organizational change
Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
- Performance bonus: 15% based on individual and company performance
