Automation Maintenance TechnicianAn established and growing manufacturer is seeking an experienced Automation Maintenance Technician to support highly automated manufacturing and packaging operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production uptime through advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment optimization, and continuous improvement.The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex equipment issues, working with automated production systems, and partnering with operations to maximize equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall plant performance.The Automation Maintenance Technician will:Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain highly automated manufacturing and packaging equipmentPerform advanced mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls troubleshootingSupport automated material handling, conveying, processing, packaging, and robotic systemsInterface with PLC and HMI systems to identify equipment faults and support controls troubleshootingTroubleshoot motors, VFDs, sensors, drives, conveyors, pumps, and utility equipmentRead and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and system layoutsPerform equipment fabrication, modification, and mechanical assembly as neededExecute preventive maintenance programsSupport predictive maintenance initiativesMaintain accurate maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)Document work orders, equipment history, and parts usageIdentify critical spare parts requirements and support inventory accuracyConduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failuresRecommend and implement long-term corrective actionsImprove equipment uptime, reliability, throughput, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)Support equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and capital projectsParticipate in equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activitiesTrain and mentor maintenance technicians and equipment operatorsSupport Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiativesPartner with Operations, Engineering, and Production to improve equipment performanceAssist in developing preventive maintenance procedures and equipment standardsFollow all electrical safety standards and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) proceduresMaintain compliance with GMP and food safety requirementsPromote a safe working environmentImmediately address equipment or process conditions that could impact employee safety or product qualityPerform additional duties as assignedRequired qualifications include:High school diploma or GED requiredTechnical or trade school education in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferredMinimum five years of industrial maintenance experience supporting highly automated manufacturing environmentsStrong multi-craft maintenance experience including: mechanical systems, electrical systems, pneumatic systems, industrial controlsWorking knowledge of: PLC systems, HMI interfaces, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motors and motion control systems, sensors and industrial automation componentsExperience troubleshooting integrated manufacturing systemsStrong preventive and predictive maintenance backgroundExperience improving equipment reliability and production efficiencyKnowledge of GMPs and regulated manufacturing environments preferredExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skillsExperience supporting robotics or automated packaging equipment preferredBilingual English/Spanish is a plusPhysical requirements include:Lift up to 50 poundsStand and walk for extended periodsFrequently bend, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and work in confined spacesOperate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipmentWork around automated manufacturing equipmentWork in varying temperatures and moderate industrial noiseExposure to common food allergens may occurWear required PPE at all timesManage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentUtilize digital maintenance systems and mobile devicesBenefits include:Medical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsurancePet Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysCareer Growth OpportunitiesEqual Opportunity Employer
