Robert Half Contract Finance & Accounting is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day invoice and payment activities for a Contract position based in Reno, Nevada. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working with detailed approval workflows, and able to manage accounts payable tasks with minimal supervision. The position focuses on accurate invoice handling, purchase order coordination, vendor account review, and timely expense report follow-up in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Review, categorize, and enter vendor invoices while maintaining accuracy across a high volume of supplier records.
• Match invoices to supporting documentation, batch transactions appropriately, and verify coding before routing items through the required approval process.
• Process purchase orders and confirm that invoice details align with internal records and vendor statements.
• Support payment cycle activities, including preparing check run information and helping ensure obligations are paid on schedule.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and coordinate resolution of outstanding items with internal teams and external contacts.
• Manage intercompany transfer documentation and maintain organized electronic files for audit-ready recordkeeping.
• Monitor expense submissions, follow up on delays or issues, and help move reporting toward a more consistent weekly cadence.
• Assist with basic journal entry preparation when needed and contribute to overall accounting support activities.
• At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Working knowledge of invoice processing, invoice coding, and purchase order matching.
• Experience supporting check runs, vendor statement reconciliation, and detailed transaction review.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage responsibilities without close oversight.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working within structured approval requirements.
• Detail-oriented, dependable approach with a calm demeanor and a high level of integrity.
