BHS Workforce is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Asheville, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Requirements: Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable) BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required RNC-NIC certification preferred 1 years of NICU experience required Experience with high-risk neonates, ventilator management, and isolette/warmer care Duties: Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates requiring intensive monitoring and support Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in neonatal condition, escalating care as needed Administer medications and titratable drips per physician orders, accounting for precise neonatal dosing Manage and monitor advanced life support equipment (ventilators, CPAP, umbilical lines, isolettes/warmers) Support thermoregulation, feeding, and developmental care needs specific to premature and high-risk infants Collaborate with neonatologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care Perform rapid response and resuscitation interventions as needed Educate and support parents/families on infant condition, treatment plan, and care needs, including kangaroo care Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient response in the EMR Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed for high-acuity, immunocompromised neonates BHS Workforce Job ID 37721322.
