Director of Ecommerce, Strategy + Technical Execution

Location: Remote, hybrid if local 1 or 2 times per week in the office in Bayonne, NJ

Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST

Reports to: CEO & President

This is a role combining ecommerce strategy, team leadership, and technical execution. The ideal candidate can lead the roadmap, drive growth, and also work directly inside Shopify, troubleshoot issues, configure apps, and make code-level updates when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Own the DTC ecommerce roadmap, site performance, merchandising, CRO, personalization, subscriptions, loyalty, and promotions.
Work hands-on in Shopify Plus, including themes, templates, metafields, apps, and integrations.
Write and modify Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript when needed.
Troubleshoot frontend, app, tracking, and site-performance issues.
Lead product launches, promotions, QA, and site updates.
Partner with developers, Creative, Digital Marketing, CX, and Operations.
Track and improve KPIs including CVR, AOV, UPT, revenue, and LTV.
Lead and mentor the ecommerce team while remaining involved in execution.

Qualifications

7+ years of ecommerce experience, ideally in DTC beauty or consumer brands.
Strong hands-on Shopify Plus experience.
Coding experience with Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with Shopify apps and integrations such as Rebuy, Recharge, Loop, Klaviyo, Nosto, Yotpo, or similar.
Strong CRO, UX, merchandising, and analytics skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.

Bonus

Shopify APIs, webhooks, Functions, or Checkout Extensibility.
International Shopify experience.
Strong technical SEO and site-performance knowledge.
