Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time contract opportunity involves working during the 2026-2027 academic year with students at both Emporia Middle School and Northern Heights High School. Support students in reaching their potential while collaborating with faculty, families, and related service providers.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Kansas Special Education teaching license required
• Demonstrated experience delivering instruction to students with varying abilities and needs
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Capacity to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Comfortable working in an onsite, school-based setting across multiple school locations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver specialized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP goals
• Adapt lessons and materials to meet diverse learning styles and needs
• Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education staff, administration, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and progress monitoring
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, interventions, and compliance
• Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies as needed
