Human Resources Manager

HR Generalist/Office Manager to proactively lead employee relations and labor law compliance for a growing Commercial General Contractor firm with 50 employees. Full-time onsite position in Newport Beach from 7am-4pm M-F. Responsibilities Employee relations and office management, including assistance with employee issues, timekeeping, expense tracking, and internal communication. Manage wage and hour tracking and submit bi-weekly pay data to payroll processor. Monitor daily hours, breaks, and OT via Workforce/QB and follow up with employees on discrepancies and violations. Coordinate time off: vacation approvals, accruals, sick time, leaves of absence Track insurance deductions, wage garnishments, and Cal Savers contributions. Maintain payroll records and run reports Track employee expenses, receipts, and reimbursements and ensure policies are followed. Recruitment and onboarding - place job ads, match candidates with role requirements, conduct initial interviews, and complete new hire documentation and orientation. Benefits administration - employee enrollment, yearly renewals, bill reconciliation. Internal communications - policy change memos, required trainings, and events. Manage terminations - exit meetings, final pay, legal documentation, unemployment disputes. Manage incident investigations and worker’s compensation claims. Coordinate with IT and phone carriers on equipment orders and tech support.
