SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME)

We are hiring immediately for full‑time SOUS CHEF positions at Children’s Mercy Adele Hall – 2401 Gillham Road, Kansas City, MO 64108. Online applications accepted only. Schedule: Full‑time, Monday through Friday; hours may vary and include weekends and holidays. More details upon interview. Pay Range: $22.50 per hour to $26.00 per hour. Responsibilities Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring deadlines are met based on production orders. Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, reviews, and recommending disciplinary action as appropriate. Stores food in designated areas per corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures. Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, cleaning workstations thoroughly before leaving the area and keeping display equipment clean during meal service. Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner and relays relevant information to supervisor. Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and explains them accurately to associates and customers. Keeps up with peak production and service hours. Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks production, consumption and waste, and informs supervisor when supplies or product are low. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous kitchen supervisory experience preferred. Certain positions may require Florida Level 2 background screening.
