Job Overview The Burn Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center) is the only state-certified burn treatment facility in New Jersey and one of the largest in North America. With 12 intensive care beds and an 18‑bed step‑down unit for less critically injured patients, the Burn Center provides expert care for patients of all ages. We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to care for our patients in their time of need. Qualifications A graduate from an accredited school of Nursing Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Nursing Strong critical thinking/assessment skills Must be I.V. certified from an approved facility or complete requirements for I.V. certification within 90 days of hire to the unit. Completion of all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Successful completion of all Orientation Programs. Certifications and Licenses Required American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License Scheduling Requirements Full‑Time, Evening Shift, 7P‑8A, 37.5 hours per week, 12.5‑hour shift Required to work every other weekend and holiday rotations Essential Functions Provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. Assures safety in practice and incorporates evidence‑based practice, maintaining an individual level of knowledge and experience and communicating with and utilizing available resources and programs. Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors. Maintains knowledge of the patient population served. Supervises and directs delegation of tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other patient‑care providers. Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. Participates in patient teaching, discharge planning, and unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities. Actively manages the nursing process, integrating all aspects of care and individualizing the plan of care for specific patients.
