Direct Counsel is partnering with an AmLaw 10 law firm to identify a highly qualified Real Estate Finance Associate (3–7 years of experience) to join its Real Estate Finance practice in Los Angeles .
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking to work on sophisticated commercial real estate financing transactions within one of the most prominent real estate platforms in the market. The team represents private equity sponsors, institutional investors, lenders, and borrowers in complex and high-value real estate debt financings across a wide range of asset classes.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on commercial real estate debt financing transactions
Structure and negotiate mortgage and mezzanine financings
Work on preferred equity investments and structured real estate financings
Assist with permanent and bridge loan originations
Handle construction loans, loan participations, and syndicated loan transactions
Work on co-lender arrangements, intercreditor agreements, loan sales, workouts, and restructurings
Collaborate with deal teams on complex and high-value real estate finance transactions
3–7 years of commercial real estate finance experience at a leading law firm
Experience with mortgage and mezzanine financings and structured real estate transactions
Familiarity with syndicated lending, intercreditor arrangements, and loan participations
Experience handling workouts and restructurings is a plus
Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills
Outstanding academic credentials
Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment
Admission to the California Bar or eligibility to obtain admission
