Registered Nurse - Levine Children's Hospital - PICU - FT Nights

Job Overview Position: RN in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH). Department: Carolinas Medical Center – LCH. Status: Full time. Hours per week: 36. Pay range: $38.20 – $57.30 per hour. Shift: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m., three shifts per week, with weekend and holiday coverage required. Sign‑on bonus available for applicants who have not received a bonus from the company within the past 24 months. Location The PICU is a newly expanded, state‑of‑the‑art 24‑bed unit in LCH, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. It offers advanced critical care services, including ECMO, CRRT & Aquadex, advanced pulmonary support, organ transplant, neurosurgical procedures, hematology‑oncology care, and comprehensive trauma services. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with policies and procedures. Use evidence‑based practice, clinical decision‑making, and compassionate communication to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. Coordinate care for complex pediatric critical conditions (ARDS, COVID‑19, RSV, hydrocephalus, seizures, sepsis, new CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, trauma, transplant, neurosurgery, orthopedic cases, gastrointestinal and endocrine diseases). Maintain appropriate staffing ratios (1:1, 1:2, or 2:1) based on acuity to ensure high‑quality care. Qualifications & Certifications Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program. Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the RN practices. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association. PALS certification required within 6 months of hire. Preferred one year of pediatric or critical‑care inpatient RN experience.
