Special Projects - Event Coordinator (Temporary)

Job Overview Part-time, temporary Events Coordinator for Los Rios Community College District. Position under Operations Director/Supervisor to assist with external rental and other events at College facilities. This position will be open until filled. Responsibilities Assist with event set-up, greeting, and liaison duties for visiting teams, officials, emergency personnel, media, community groups, and other organizations using American River College facilities. Unlock and secure facilities as required. Notify police or operations director/supervisor if any user is not complying with facility use permits, rules, and regulations. Assist with event set-up and other operations tasks as needed. Filing Preparing reports Cart operation Concessions Parking Storage of material goods Usher Assist the chain gang crew for football Announcer Scoreboard operation Scoreboard keeper All other organizational duties as assigned Qualifications Equity mindset and willingness to take responsibility for assessing policies and procedures. Effective customer service skills. Proficient written communication, including grammatical rules, correspondence, and report writing at a level that effectively performs duties. Special Requirements Valid California driver’s license to operate district vehicles. Must follow safety procedures and practices related to duties. Perform physically demanding labor, including standing, maneuvering, lifting, stooping, crouching, bending, and carrying up to 50 pounds. Work outdoors under inclement weather. Work with solvents, glues, adhesives, cleaning and degreasing solutions, other chemicals, and sharp blades. Climb and descend 816 foot ladders with or without heavy objects. Wear personal protective and safety equipment when appropriate or required, including respirator. Operate and manipulate hand, electric and other kinds of tools and equipment related to duties.
