Payroll Assistant, Bilingual Spanish

Overview

Assists the payroll department in performing tasks such as maintaining accurate employee records, calculating and processing payroll checks, and responding to employee inquiries. Assists management in carrying out day-to-day payroll activities.

What You Will Do

• Collects, totals, and posts records of employees' work hours for processing of weekly payroll.
• Processes payroll in an accurate and timely manner; provides payroll information to our payroll vendor, as needed.
• Calculates hours paid in error onto master time sheets. Reconciles hours input into system against payroll journal.
• Enters start and end times into payroll software.
• Confirm that legally-mandated and optional deductions have been processed correctly.
• Researches and completes all unemployment disability, employment verification, and salary information for current and former employees.
• Investigates and researches employee questions regarding payroll. Addresses queries about payroll-related issues
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate's Degree preferred

Work Experience:

• Minimum two years general office experience or one year of payroll experience required
• Good mathematical ability, excellent customer service, and problem-solving skills required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Excellent verbal communication skills required

Pay Range

USD $17.00 - USD $19.73 /Hr.
