Hudson Ophthalmology & Aesthetics — Cortlandt Manor We are seeking a licensed optometrist to join an established, physician owned ophthalmology practice in northern Westchester. We remain one of the few private practices in the region that has not been acquired by a corporate or private equity group, and we continue to practice medicine the way it was intended. THE ROLE Comprehensive eye examinations and refractions Contact lens fittings Medical optometry within a glaucoma and cataract surgical practice Pre and post operative care Urgent visits and routine follow up There is also the opportunity to develop a dry eye service. We have IPL, amniotic membrane and an established patient base in place. For the right candidate, this is a clinical program to build and lead rather than one to inherit. OUR PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY The practice is led by Dr. Kerline Marcelin, a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship trained glaucoma specialist who has served as Clinical Assistant Professor at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary for over 26 years. She is a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and an Exceptional Women in Medicine honoree. This is a small, collegial practice with a broad clinical mix, including meaningful exposure to glaucoma and surgical care for those interested. Responsibilities will be shaped around your experience and interests. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $170,000 to $180,000 annually, prorated for part time, plus production incentives 401(k) with employer match Professional liability insurance provided 22 days paid time off, including 7 major holidays, prorated for part time $2,000 retention bonus at six months Compensation commensurate with experience SCHEDULE Part time: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with one evening per week until 6:30 PM and one Saturday morning per month. THE PRACTICE Our 3,500 square foot facility includes six fully equipped examination rooms with OCT, fundus photography, Humphrey visual field, corneal topography, IOL Master, autorefractor, lensometer, keratometer, YAG and SLT lasers, IPL and amniotic membrane. The practice has served Cortlandt Manor, Yorktown, Peekskill, Ossining and the greater Hudson Valley for over 20 years and maintains more than 200 five star patient reviews. We are located approximately one hour north of Manhattan, a reverse commute from the city. QUALIFICATIONS New York State licensed or license eligible. New graduates are welcome. QUALIFICATIONS Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in New York (or eligibility to obtain). Strong clinical skills in comprehensive eye examinations, refraction, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions. Ability to work collaboratively with ophthalmologists and other eye care professionals in co-management of cataract, glaucoma, and other medical or surgical cases. Proficiency in using modern diagnostic equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems, with strong attention to detail in documentation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to high-quality, ethical care. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including capacity to manage a steady patient flow in a busy clinical environment. Willingness to participate in continuing education, stay current with advances in optometry and ophthalmology, and follow evidence-based clinical guidelines.
