Senior Staff Accountant

LHH is partnering with a client in North Austin to identify a Senior Staff Accountant for a 3-month contract engagement. This role will focus heavily on general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations, while supporting broader accounting operations.

What You'll Be Doing

General Ledger & Month-End Close

• Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting
• Assist with month-end close, ensuring deadlines are met and processes run efficiently
• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness

Reconciliations

• Perform detailed bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Ensure supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready

AP/AR Support

• Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activity for accuracy
• Partner with AP/AR teams to resolve issues and ensure proper coding and posting
• Assist with improving processes and controls across transactional accounting

Financial Reporting

• Support preparation of internal financial reports and schedules
• Assist with variance analysis and provide insight into account fluctuations

What You Bring

• 4+ years of accounting experience, with strong GL focus
• Proven experience with month-end close and bank reconciliations
• Experience reviewing or supporting AP/AR functions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
• ERP system experience (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, or similar preferred)
