Manufacturing Lead

Johnson & Johnson MedTech seeks a Manufacturing Lead for the Ottava surgical robotics production team in Santa Clara. The role involves leading daily production floor operations, mentoring technicians, coordinating manufacturing activities, and driving continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production floor operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets
• Assign work priorities and mentor manufacturing technicians on troubleshooting, assembly, and skill development
• Facilitate shift handoffs and communicate production status, risks, and issues to leadership and cross-functional teams
• Monitor production progress and escalate staffing, material, quality, and schedule issues that impact objectives
• Drive quality improvements, root cause analysis, and Lean manufacturing initiatives across the organization

Requirements

• Associate degree plus 6-8 years manufacturing experience, or engineering/mechatronics degree with 6-8 years related experience
• Manufacturing technician experience at Type II or Type III medical device or complex electromechanical equipment company
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with multimeter and isolation techniques
• Demonstrated team leadership and production coordination experience in manufacturing environments
• Proficiency in SAP and MES/ERP systems
• Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices, anti-static/ESD principles, and technical drawing comprehension
• Hands-on assembly and test task proficiency with torque wrenches and related tools
