Our client, a Global Leader in the Consumer Appliance Industry, has an immediate opening for a Procurement Customs Specialist for a 5 Month + Contract . Our client offers results-driven people a place where they can make a difference - every day! The ideal candidate will have customs experience and will be able to adapt their knowledge to our clients' processes and consumer appliance products.
ONSITE
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing support and direction to process partners on import activity to ensure timely and accurate Customs clearance in accordance with US Customs regulations.
- Be able to multitask and respond quickly to any issues affecting the customs clearance process.
- Evaluate current imports and identify potential duty drawback opportunities and special trade program savings.
- Provide daily guidance in the areas related to HTSUS classification, FDA/USDA requirements, special trade programs, and internal import and export compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required). Degree required in order to convert to client on direct hire.
- 1-2 years of this type of work-import to customs compliance
- Similar or adjacent experience: Export compliance- shipping and Logistics is similar, but warehousing alone does not have the customs piece that is necessary.
- Some Finance or other regulatory fields can be semi-transferable for this role (government regulatory)
- Experience with HTSUS is highly desired.
